Extension tubes and Nikon 60mm macro lens?

Want to try and get a bit more out of my 60mm macro lens (as I'm too cheap/skint to buy a longer lens like the 105mm). Is there any benefit of bolting on some extension tubes to my 60mm lens? Is it possible to actually do this? Which extension tubes are worth getting?

I use Kenko extension tubes. These come in a set of 12mm, 20mm and 36mm. You can use them together to give you 68mm but you do lose a couple of stops. Here's mine http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-kenko-dg-nikon-af-extension-tubes-set-36mm-20mm-12mm-/p1007657

Extension tubes work very well for getting that little bit closer.

Ok brilliant. Losing a few stops is fine, it'll be on a tripod anyway.
