does anyone have the Canon 25mm extension tube?

After seeing some of the awesome macro work on here, i've decided i'd like to have a wee go at it.

I have a 60mm macro lens, but it's a little tricky getting close enough to the bugs in order to fill the frame without the risk of getting stung

Or.....if no one uses the Canon item......do you know if the other makes will accept the EF-S fitting?

The Kenko tubes get a good write up as a viable alternative to the Canon ones.

but do they allow ef-s lenses to mount?

i've read that the Canon items have been redesigned for that mount.

I don't think they do. I seem to remember Kate looking into this properly.

You do realise that extension tubes reduce working distance even more.

The Kenko ones don't with EFS lenses but you can modify them to work by trimming away the plastic shielding inside with no ill effect.

Jessops own brand tubes work with EFS out the box.

Cheers pxl8, handy for us to know :)

Kate

whats the score on the kenco's?
They don't fit EF-S lenses, no.

They're cracking though. Well worth the £60 I paid for 'em :)

Damn that S on the end of the 60mm EFS .. why did they have to do that?

Might be worth going and trying the Jessops ones as pxl8 suggested. I have some FD fit ones for my Canon AT-1. They're great!
