Facing Camera...or away?

Did some shots for Anita Manning of BBC's Bargain Hunt, does this shot work better facing camera or looking away?

Tricky choice here, I'd choose #1

#1 for me too - #2 looks like shes trying a bit too hard if you know what I mean

I actually cropped it that way, there was one corner of a picture frame in the shot to camera right which was a bit distracting, I suppose I should have just cloned it out :shrug:

Both good pictures... but #2 for me. It has a nice warmth to it and she is engaging with the viewer.

I think she looks more relaxed and natural in 1.
