Falcon 650-1300 telephoto lens Advice?

Does anyone know if the Falcon 650-1300mm Super Zoom Telephoto Lens f/8.0 - 16.0 are any good/worth the money? Im after a reasonably priced strong lens for my Olympus and not sure which to go for. Any help very welcome. Thanks
 
Is there any that are decent and not gonna break the bank?
 
quality and focal length directly releated to pocket depth I believe:)
 
I suppose it depends on an individuals definition of breaking the bank. (I came out in a sweat paying £600 for a Sigma 120-400, but plenty of people on here have £5000+ lenses.) Depending on body and what you're looking for, may be worth keeping an eye on the for sale forum on here.

As for your original question as to the Falcon thingy, complete pile of poo.

One "trick" a lot of people on here do is say use something with say 300 max reach and then use a 1.4 or 1.7 teleconverter, to bump the distance. There is a slight loss of IQ and stops but will still be vastly better than the Falcon.
 
So if I got something like Sigma 50-500mm F4-6.3 APO DG HSM Lens and a 2x tube then that would be a decent set up for long distance?

Not sure a lens like that would work with a 2x teleconvertor. Basically there is no cheap way to shoot long :P
 
x2 will almost certainly be soft and probably no AF.
 
I have a Sigma 400 that I use with a 2xTC, works fine but you need a good bright day as max is only f8.

The 50-500mm f4-6.3 lens is seriously slow to focus. By adding a TC to this lens, no autofocus and an even slower lens requiring very good light to get good images. The TC's will significantly reduce the performance of your lens.

Adding a 1.4x TC (you lose 1 f-stop of light) would create a 70-700mm f5.6-8 lens

Adding a 2x TC (you would lose 2 f-stops of light) would create a 100-1000mm f8-16

F-stops are 1, 1,4, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22
The fractional stops .....f/4.5, f/5, f/5.6, f/6.3, f/7.1, f/8, etc.
They are called fractional stops because they are 1/3 and 1/2 of a f-stops) if I've understood it right
 
Lenses on a budget are mainly from sigma like the 50-500mm f4-6.3, or 120-400mm f4.5-5.6, 150-500mm f5-6.3 all around the £600 / 1000 another lens is the Tamron 200-500mm f5-6.3 at £800 / 900, but you would probably need a tripod, as most of these lenses are heavy and you would probably get better results than handheld. Also you need good light to get the best from these lenses due to the slow optics
