Ok guys
im looking to purchase a flash for my 400d soon ish now what sort of ones are out there ill be shooting mainly glamour and cars really. not in a studio at the min any thoughts would be greatful.

430ex or a 580ex if your feeling plush.

550EX, 580EX, 580EX II will trigger a slave flash

430EX, 430EX II slightly less powerful and won't trigger a slave flash, but can be triggered by the above.

Depends how much you want to spend...

well i wouldnt mind buying second hand to be honest less than 100 pound for the min would be ace

you could probably get a 550EX or a 430EX secondhand for that.

You do realise you pay higher prices at camera dealers for secondhand stuff than you would from forum members / ebay. Only difference is you get a short warranty.

Hi the 430ex is fine but the 550ex is worth the extra dosh you would probably upgrade after 6 months anyway.

i have found a 420ez is that something i could use or no... theres not very many flashes around i can find:bang:

you really need an EX speedlight otherwise you need to do more manual stuff.

No, none of the automatic ettl functions would work

Have a look at the Nissin range - supposed to be prety good and I think the do one that is ETTL II for about £100
