My Nikon 18-135 lens seems to have a broken focus ring inside it,
The lens seems to work most of the way but fails to focus on things close to the camera. Also if rotated a certain way I can see part of the internal giving a "half moon" effect over the lens.
My questions are,
is it worth fixing?
How much would cost to fix if it is?
and
Where is the best place to put it for repair?
I did seen a drop damaged one on ebay a few weeks back where the mount was damaged, and thought it might make a viable donor for a cheap repair. Has anyone else done this?
