Hi. Can some one offer some help.
I am trying to load my old favs / books marks from internet explorer google chrome from my wins 7 pc to my new pc wins 10, just unable to simply copy and paste the folders. any ideas please ?
Chrome - r-click on bookmarks bar, choose bookmark manager - click the 3 dots on top bar right - choose 'export bookmarks'. Use a usb stick? Then import to app on new drive.
Yes. But not for much longer. Which is a shame because a small number of Microsoft products only work properly on it......
Anyway, in IE, click the star in the top right. In the drop down that says "add to favourites" select "import and export". From there it's pretty obvious to export favourites to a file. This gives you a .htm file that you can move to your new machine (it's tiny so if all else fails email it to yourself).
Then click this link
chrome://settings/importData
which should open in Chrome (if not then copy / paste), select Bookmarks HTML file from the dropdown and follow the prompts. It's a similar process to import to Edge and (unpopular opinion) I prefer Edge to Chrome on a Win10 box.
