Thanks Alby. They are amazing little flies BUT (as mentioned above), they are not the easiest to shoot. I've seen quite afew of these recently, but 99% of them have flown off before ive managed 1 shot.

Aah.. so my guess was right - I had taken a picture of one, but the tell-tale stinger was not there - I thought it was a female but wasn't sure - thanks for the confirmation
