Bit of a struggle Joe, the 100-400 I had was super sharp. Combined with the 1.3X crop on the 1D it gave great length.
The full frame and shorter glass means it's a lot more difficult. The 1.4X and 70-200 was also front focussing a fair bit, adjusted it on the fly and it looks like it's pretty much spot on now.
Got a 300mm coming tomorrow or Monday though, that should help
i would be well happy with the Ct Dod the BT`s look as though they could do with a little sharpen, the Robin looks good, looks like you got a streamlined version must be the Mkll
u8myufo, I have sharpened them, didn't dare add more due to the size of crop, it starts introducing halos They're just at the limits of what's acceptable IMO.
Joe, you know me too well I suppose I could just force DX mode
Alby, stunning is a word best reserved for the guys who really know what they're doing in this section
Like these.
Lovely weather for bird shots i think.
Unfortunately daughter no. 1 has gone to S America for 7 weeks and taken the 70-200 and 10-24 with her.
