with the 70-200 and 1.4X. Even so they're fairly heavy crops, I do miss that 100-400 for this :|

Heavy crops they may be but still a fantastic set with lovely detail and colour. Number 3 is my pick (y)

Bit of a struggle Joe, the 100-400 I had was super sharp. Combined with the 1.3X crop on the 1D it gave great length.

The full frame and shorter glass means it's a lot more difficult. The 1.4X and 70-200 was also front focussing a fair bit, adjusted it on the fly and it looks like it's pretty much spot on now.

Got a 300mm coming tomorrow or Monday though, that should help :)

i would be well happy with the Ct Dod (y) the BT`s look as though they could do with a little sharpen, the Robin looks good, looks like you got a streamlined version must be the Mkll :D

Good set like the Coal Tit and the last Robin best.

thanks for the comments guys :)

u8myufo, I have sharpened them, didn't dare add more due to the size of crop, it starts introducing halos :( They're just at the limits of what's acceptable IMO.

Joe, you know me too well  I suppose I could just force DX mode :)

Alby, stunning is a word best reserved for the guys who really know what they're doing in this section

I like the Coal Tit, its no.1 for me followed by the puffy, grumpy Blue Tit.
