Hi guys.

DougDarter recomended this site to me, and I just wondered if anyone else had had any experience of it? I'd never heard of it so I just want to make sure before I think of buying stuff from there.

Ffordes Photographic

Also, in their used equipment they give ratings like "Signs of use", "Slight signs of use". What sort of stuff do they mean? I don't mind signs of use as long as it aint too obvious and doesn't spoil performance in any way.

Cheers.

I'll let you know - I just ordered a meter from them described as 'Like new' :D

Well they have a good reputation for accurately describing goods. I would have thought 'signs of use' meant just that - rub marks etc from normal handling with any significant dings or knocks being described as such.

I have got lots of gear from them !

They are really good !

Cheers guys. Pleased to hear that as they seem to have quite good prices :)

They're shop system is a little wierd though. You go to used-gear, and then if you click nikon or canon it goes on to all their film stuff? And "Digital Cameras" has a little sub-section as if they're this wierd type of camera that not many people use

As Ffordes is only half mile from me, I should know, and I know the owner.

They are one of the biggest used specialists in the country, if not THE biggest. They are unbelievably busy, the used section has a 10 day approval period as well, so in other words, buy something, don't like it , return it.

All of their cameras come with warranties as do their lenses.

You won't have a problem buying from Ffordes.

They have double page ad in Amateur Photographer and many other photographic magazines?

Aye, they're good. :) Used them a couple of times for stuff and like Allan I like the fact I can go in and handle stuff before I buy it.

Well if the used meter I've had delivered this morning is anything to go by their descriptions are conservative in the extreme. They described it as 'Almost like new' and I'm damned if I can see any signs of use at all.

Impressively quick delivery too. I'd certainly use them again on this showing! (y)

No instructions mind you. and it's been doing me 'ead in!

Downloaded some now though so the confusion should clear in a week or two. :D

Hopefully I won't need a manual to learn how to use my D70...If that's what I decide to get. Anyway I can just pester you lot with questions :D

A friend ordered a c330 with 80mm lens. it arrived with i think a more expensive wide angle lens. But she was very happy.
