I was doing some kite shots yesterday , Beautiful blue sky but with my subject being dark due to the wetsuits my sky appears washed out ..... wondered how to get around this to bring that sky out better

only had a clear protective filter on , on the day

sorry if this has been covered and for it being a newbie to filters question

thanks in advance for any advice an suggestions

A circular polariser will help you depending where the sun was in relation to you.

I was wondering if polariser was the way to go , Usually try get the sun behind me and an the kiters coming toward me so they get the light , which usually means getting in an getting wet .... thanks for the quick response

It could certainly help you. They work best at 90 degrees to the sun but you'll still be getting a strong affect with the sun behind you.

that'd work well for the passing shots too . Thanks Graham i appreciate the advice

A polariser would certainly help if you can afford to give up some light. One thing to consider is that to get the same exposure you will have to make some adjustments. you will loose a considerable amount of light with this filter.
