I often find it hard to be inspired by taking pics when a large majority of my time is taken up by taking nightlife photos and editing them. i absolutely love taking pics but lately have not been improving/trying different techniques or locations.

basically im down in london for a few days and pretty bored, so I'm thinking I'm gonna spend a day in town taking pics. do any of you have any suggestions, and favourite places? i'm up for anything, the idea of this is to challange myself and try and reconnect with non-nightlife photography.

Are you one of those nightlife photographers I keep seeing advertised on gumtree? I always wondered what they did.
Anyway, Im not English, but I am in London regularly and always take the camera with me. It a great place to photograph. For inspiration its important to get out of your comfort zone, do something different. Try and take your camera into the the natural history museum, imperial war museum or somewhere (if you are allowed). Try around Soho also, but be careful.

get back to nature...boy!!

nice ideas. ive lived in london all my life, except for the past 2 months as im now living in norwich. the problem i have with london is that i'm so used to it, i generally find it a chore to even go into town, or enjoy whats around me. but since ive moved away from the big smoke, im hoping that i'll actually look at it with different and regfreshed eyes and maybe see what visitors to the city see...

as a 'nightlife' (if thats what id call it?) photographer, i cover clubs and gigs, freepartys, festivals etc. basically music events. but i also do work for DJ's/artists, such as promo shoots, album covers etc and also have taken pictures of rigs and soundsystems for promotoinal use by the owners. its good fun and im well known in my 'scene' for what i do, i am also an established DJ and producer so I'm out every weekend either mixing or shooting. i love what i do, but i'd love to get into other photography - for example, im not used to shooting in good light, and find getting 'natural' outdoor pictures right difficult as i'm so used to working in low light in clubs. i'd love to branch out more, but i've just got to find whats right for me. i'd love to do more nature photograhpy but need to improve on kit (get a zoom lens!) before i get to the stuff i'd like.

i'm gonna head into london tomorrow around midday and stay til after sundown, where i go, i'm not sure but i'll try and post the results if they are interesting ;)
