Fine tuning autofocus

If one is fine tuning their autofocus (in my case, on a D7000), should one do it at varying focal lengths for a lens? The clip I looked at for instructions suggested doing it for each lens, but I'm not concerned with that at the moment.

I was just wondering whether my technique was letting me down, as it looks like several shots in the above post have missed focus. I've just gone through the fine tune and think it is alright.

Dont think you can - fine tune af is assigned to the lens...

If you think its not focusing properly, I think its around the 30ukp mark but fixation did a good job with my 35mm fixing the focus. Dont need to fine tune it now

Worth asking (although they are london based and only open during the week)...




Oh and if there is another nikon user near by - see if they can test your lens too.

What sort of settings/lens were you using?

Just had another look and it looks like a single setting is saved for a particular lens (or range), like you say
