I'm being sent a flash gun by a lovely, lovely person, and I'm wondering what I should buy to fire it remotely.

Also could do with a trigger to fire studio lights, I'm not quite sure how the frequency things work.

Basically looking for the absolute cheapest (don't tell me I have to pay for quality, I can't afford it)

+1 for the RF602 kit (providing it's a reasonably modern flash and doesn't have a high trigger voltage).

The CTR-301P kit is marginally cheaper, works with higher trigger voltage flashes but doesn't have the same range (or in my experience the same reliability) as the RF602. It doesn't have the wake-from-sleep capability either, which can be very frustrating.

Go with the RF602.

It'll depend on the trigger voltage of your flashgun, Lynnie.Do you know what make/model it is?

Nope, I'm getting it from a UKPMer and his description was a bit vague. Its one intended for digital tho... not one of the old ones that will fry my camera.
