First attempt at macro

Took this using my Tamron 70-300mm, which I realise isn't the best choice for macro, but it can do 1:2 so it's not too bad. Just looking for C&C really, since I haven't tried this kind of photography before.

thats a pretty darn good first attempt you have there...only thing that spoils it for me are the blown out parts...but keep at it,you're sure heading in the right direction

I agree, that's a superb first go. It's sharp and detailed in the right places, the DOF looks good.

I like this, good work! As everyone has mentioned, the blown out parts are the area for improvement, but I doubt I could do better...
