First Attempt at Moonshot

My first attempt at photographing the moon with my new (to me) 100-300 zoom.

f/8 @ 1/400 @ ISO 100, brightened and contrast enhanced a bit in PS.

much better half/crescent moon ,not full moon as you get better creator detail

You've done a good job under tough conditions, the full moon is really hard to shoot.

Great capture, you are obviously not having cloud cover like us in ??sunny?? Essex
If thats your first try, I await latter ones with interest, I just love the moon.


I will get the tripod aout and try my luck as soon as we have aclear sky, which looking at it will not be tonight either.
