First attempt at night photography

So many stars visable while staying in my parents caravan in Harlyn Cornwall, thought I would have a crack at this night photography lark. Had a go at trying to get a shot of the milky way but it didnt come out as I hoped. Dont know wether I needed to do better in camera or my PP is not just right. Enjoyed taking these from a secluded cove called Onjohns Cove near to Harlyn bay so am keen to know what I have done wrong. Critique most welcom, thanks for looking .

Cheers teddyt, yes It was my first attempt apart from moon shots.Just one exposure and a quick flash of my headlamp. I think it's too noisy. Been ready about stacking to reduce noise so will have to give it ago.looking forward to these winter nights now been walking around like a zombie with late nights and early mornings .Its also nice to try something different
