Hi guys,

this was my first attempt at night photography. Nothing special but worth showing. I would have got more of the tree in it, but I did this from my garden and didn't want to get my garden in the frame.

Nice image what camera have you got, and what settings did you use.?

I use Nikon D7000, and on this particular photo I used ny 18-105. Did try few with 70-200.

Shutter speed: 30.0 secs
Aperture: f/10
ISO:1250

I used a Nikon D60 with my photos just put up the moon was taken with a Canon 1000D modified attached to my omni XLT120 scope,
Star shots were Shutter speed 20 secs Aperture F/3.8 ISO 800 early days yet.

We can only get better !

Your aperture is set way too narrow, try ƒ3 to ƒ4.5 next time (lens dependant), and you will get more stars, however since you are shooting from your back yard you will get more light pollution in the shot.
