First attempts with my new Canon 100mm Macro

Got a new lens from wuffstuff (great seller) and decided to try it out, haven't done any macro before, but here are my shots from yesterday:

Their are my first attempts C&C please.

And the canon 100mm really is an amazing lens as it good for macro and also makes a brilliant portrait lens !

1 looks good to me, however I think it could do with the contrast upping a little perhaps? The red looks a bit washed out to me.

2 seems soft but that could be web resizing.

Love 3 and 4! All good pics but those stand out as being better to me

I really like number 2. Great pose and detail.

#1 is also nice, could maybe do with a bit more saturation to punch out the red.

You've lost highlight detail in 3. Nice looking cat though.

Number 4 just doesn't do anything for me. Think a bit more DOF in foreground would help.

Agree the 100 is a great lens. Enjoy!
