Well Lenora you have captured them well, and gulls not only make for good practise bif subjects, but make lovely images in their own right. The softness in #1 can easily sorted but #2 is spot on for focus. My only suggestion would be try to avoid bringing out as much detail as possible in editing, the bird has a natural dark area under the left wing due to the way the light is cast. If you try and show too much of that detail iit results in the lighter side of the subject being blown. Keep posting
