I agree a hover shot in the ladybird pose would be spot on, something I have learnt from here is you have to get down and dirty sometimes , I have an interest in fungi whilst it's easy to shoot looking down the best angle is side on and I think that applies to a lot of other close up work

Good start, good advice too has been given. Getting down to the insects level puts you right in their world which is where you really want to be for the best impact.
