A simple shot from my first early morning foray

Kit lens @ 55mm, iso 100, f8, 1/60 sec, NDG and blue tint grad (just to give the sky a little kick).

It was a very enjoyable morning, for the first hour I was the only person up there. I was hoping to try some long exposure water shots as well but, the tide was in, the sea was flat and in the end so was me battery

Can only echo what's already been said.

I did think on reading the title it was a homage to something by Joe Cornish ('First light' being the title of one of his books) who has to be the UK's finest landscape photographer

The kit lens is a much maligned lens, and unfairly so. What you have above is a good example of what you can get out of it given the right conditions and approach
