Hi all!

I've not posted any thing for a while, well we've had some stunning weather down south for a good few days so i made the most of it today.

I asked a friend if i could borrow his set of extension tubes to try and achieve some extream macro's.
they cost him the massive amount of 99p from the bay.

not as close as i was expecting, i stacked all 3 tubes and used my Tokina 100mm f2.8 for all shots.

I also made a custom diffuser type thing for the flash gun, this was the second attempt as the first just bounced the light back at the camera.

any ways onto the pics. C+C welcome as always.

Well done, they are excellent. Might have to get some of those and have a go. I love your diffuser! get that patented.

Some fantastic shots from some cheap extension tubes. Not really got into Macro myself and can never understand how you get the model (fly) to sit still long enough - don't think I have the patience.

Anyway, great set with lots of variation, contrast and texture.

What a great set - the fly shots are great as are those stamen and that fuzzy insect (whatever the hell it is :))

Top marks :)

Great set, it's not all about money is it? Reckon you could use that in the rain with that diffuser ;)

cheers for the comments guys.
Here's some more. if any one could id the little critters that would be great, i have no idea apart from the flys what they all are?

Ninja training helps! It also helps if your not afraid of creepy crawlies and flying insects that sting! but Macro photography is good because it shows you something that cannot normally be seen (like astrophotography as well).

famas, love the tank! whats your flickr name so i can have abit more of a closer look....

also where'd you get 99p extension tubes from?

Thanks

Rob

cheers, flickr address is at the bottom of this post.

got the tubes from a friend who bought them for 99p about a year ago. cheapest i've seen them now is 5.99 from amazon

how do they compare to kenko's then?

Nice set from such a simple set up.
Number 7 comes across really well for me.
