First Self Portrait Post

Hey. First posted picture on the forum so please be gentle. I am trying hard to learn the ropes with off-camera flash. This is a self portrait lit with off-camera Canon Speedlite and homemade honeycomb snoot (with black drinking straws).

Crititque please.

Not bad, but would like to see a little more of the bottom right hand side of your face (your right hand side)

Yeah, I had my fleece jacket on but it was pushing against my chin. Was going to try and clone it out in photoshop but felt it was a bit too much. Might try this again but pay more attention to the positioning of my clothing. This is bloody hard but I am enjoying it. Oh, forgot to say that the flash was handheld for this shot and the camera on a tripod with my other hand pressing a remote shutter release.

It's never easy but always fun. Always good to maybe have just a t-shirt on up top so it doesn't interfere with you face in these shots.

Hmmm, too much black space. Try cropping closer

Like this, very moody. Perhaps crop the top and bottom black? Would result in a nicely composed landscape shot (might need a bit more on the right)
