Broke out the macro lens and flash today for the first time in a long time - lack of practice really showed and I picked a rubbish day really as it was quite breezy. Still - I had fun which is the main thing. C&C welcome - I don't usually take the flash but I feel like I need to make myself use it and work out whet the hell I'm doing! Sorting out some kind of diffuser seems like a priority...

Thanks for looking :)

What a excellent set, superb composition. #6 is the pick of the bunch for me. Highlights are a little harsh nothing that a bit of diffusion wont sort, though sun can be a right pita especially with anything slightly metallic.

thanks Bryn - that's very kind of you :) I enjoyed shooting the soldier beetles - caught some great poses but of course they were not quite in focus once I'd got home and had a look at them. Def need to work on the lighting...

Nice set and yes it really is worth sorting out a diffuser, Living in a brighter climate than the UK I always use a flash with a diffuser on.
