Went to watch the Shuttleworth Evening air display last weekend and had a go at a few shots. The flying didn't start until 7pm so the best I could get was shooting at ISO400 , if anybody has a spare zoom @2.8 I'll look after it for you :)

Don't know what the planes are called , I only go to look & listen :)

All full frame , just resized for the forums

Beautiful shots
If only the wings in #4 were not clipped.I suppose in #1 you deliberately cropped tight to show the pilot in his office, yes?
Very nice shots all of them.
#1 is a de Havilland Chipmunk (I think)
#2 could be a Wapiti or a Hawker Hart although the French colour scheme makes me uncertain.SORRY no expert on WW I birds
#3 definitely a Hawker Hurricane
#4 could be a Boeing stearman or similar 30'S vintage

Very nice
Cheers

PS #3: FLEET AIR ARM SEA HURRICANE Mk 1b ,part of shuttleworth collection based at Duxford , formerly of 880 and 801 squadrons.......
You see you should not get me started on WW II birds!!(y) :)

2's my favourite(y)

//edit// Jpeg & resizing has destroyed the engine detail :crying:

very nice. Not done any airshow stuff before, so i should get out and have a go

Really good shots there MrGubby..:)

I think I have found out why you did a close crop on Pic#1

Shutter Speed 1/1250 which will give no prop blur at all.:nono:

Very sharp shots though, I am impressed..(y)

Nope ,was zoomed in deliberately to try and get the pilot (that is full frame , not cropped)

but.....

that shot was on full auto/sports mode so the AI servo would work :bang:

Thanks  (in a very manly photographer way) , just shows that with a bit of luck & practice you can get acceptable results with the budget end of the lens range :)

Lovely mate.

If you want to borrow a proper zoom from me, you're gonna have to buy a proper camera first :p

:nikon:

Slaps Joe with a very big kipper

Thanks mrgubby
Beautiful shot.I will now sit and drool a bit more...(y)

Nice set of shots, I'd be more than happy to come away with those.
