As it says above was out trying out my new 40d +sigma
50-500. Poor lighting wasnt helping all c+c welcome, did use a monopod but think a tripod would have been better

I was using iso 1250 to try and keep the shuter speed high, the sigma 50-500 is a bit heavy to hand hold and not much better with a monopod:D.The settings i used were 1/800 f5.6 iso 1250

That is not bad at all for a first stab at bird shots Macky ... (y) ... it is a little bit grainy from the high ISO probably and it is also slightly over 'shopped as in over-sharpened and a little too much saturation ...

But very nice compositionally save for the errant twig and shows lots of promise ... ;)

:p

2nd version is worlds apart imho, much better controlled processing. 1st looks very oversharpened to me, the noise doesn't bother me overly much though.

(Just a quick suggestion - I'd recommend changing the copyright text on your images as the font isn't holding its quality (y))

Thanks all for your c+c its always good to get some feedback:)

2nd is better .. as Ven said too much PP doesnt help
