Fixing a GoPro to the top of my camera?

Got a Canon 7D, trying to think of the best way to attach a GoPro to it

One idea I've had is to get something to slot into the hotshoe, with a tripod thread in it that I could screw the GoPro mount into... Does such a device exist?

Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!
