Nice. I always find 1.8 a bit wide when taking photos of my pets. I usually end up with the head in focus and anything past the head blurred. By that I mean the pets body. Lol
Whoa! Don't get in too big of a rush. I like your photo. It's the cat's eyes that are most critical to have in focus, and then the face in general. The body isn't really important in this type of portrait. (At least to me, FWIW, LOL)
Why else have a fast lens...you can really dictate the viewer's perception of the subject.
