My 580exii gave up on the the other weekend and Canon have quoted me £156 to fix it. I can get the Yongnou for under £90.

I don't really use the flash often as I mainly shoot landscape. I'm leaning towards the Yongnou but just wanted opinions on the flash and whether I'll miss any of the features.

The extent of my flash usage is off camera using Yongnou triggers just to take a simple portrait. Just one flash gun in my setup.

All thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

I'm hardly an expert as I only have a Yongnou 568 for about a week or so and barely know how to use it lol. I also have a 430 ex II rather than your 580

All I can tell you is I used it off camera with the Yongnou triggers and it works fine for my needs. It also has very good build quality for the price.

If you go manual theres the cheaper 560 flash, plus get its remote, another option

Got a Youngnuo 568 to replace a Canon 430 exII, very pleased, 622 triggers work faultlessly, worth £86 it cost me on Amazon

So more useful for multiple flash setups? I've not yet ventured into that world yet.

So in theory with the 600 I could have that off camera and use one of the Yongnou trigger on camera and use the other trigger with a second flash?

yup, I think that'd work, gonna get a youngnuo 600 clone to go with my 568 & 622 triggers.
