i ride mtb and also a am amateur photographer,my friend let me borrow his flash gun and the photos are a lot more impressive.

i was wondering how much it would cost for a set up. i am also considering using the flash gun remotly so how much do you think it would cost. as i am on a budget..

thanks,
matt

My Jessops 300AFD flash was £25, and a set of PT-04 wireless triggers was £14 from ebay, so it can be very cheap. What you loose is adjustibility, so with my setup its kinda harsh to flash riders from the front as the flash is so bright. My next plan is to buy a couple of older but adjustible flashes and another few recievers for multiple off camera flashes a lower power.

I'm new to this aswell, but here are some examples from a week ago:

If you close the aperture down a wee bit you can lessen the impact of the flash

I meant too bright as in it blinds the rider, which they don't tend to be too happy about!

Having a way to set the flash power is a must. At full power it will be to bright for the riders, but then you realy dont want it pointed at there face. Some good shots can be had.
