Flash Gun for Nikon D3000

Which type of flash guns can I use for this camera?

Im sure the SB-400 is one but im not sure.

Any of Nikon's own flashguns will work on your camera, as will any modern (ie designed for digital) 3rd party Nikon-compatible one.

Any of the current ones will indeed work, however the older Nikon flashes will only work in manual mode....ie no TTL mode. SB 400 will work but the 600/800/900 will be far better with more ability to bounce the light.
As Flash in the Pan says, some of the third party guns are good to use too......Nissin is another brand to add to the pot.

See I saw a NIssin in wildings. Is it an automatic flash or manual?

I dnt mind the sb400, just for the time being as im new to the flash gun era haha

The thing is the sb700 or sb900 will be a better buy in the long run and I should imagine easier to use. Sorry Haven't tried the 400 but have got a couple of sb 200's sb800 and sb900, I
