Ok, so i've just taken advantage of the cheap offer on jessops 360AFD flash (£59!) for some more off camera work (these will be my 2nd and 3rd flashes)

Currently i have one of these flashes, a 33" shoot-through, with a light stand and ball head adaptor on top.

The ball head adaptor is one of these:

The whole system just feels a little shakey, most of the 'wobble' comes from the adaptor on top, although the wireless receiver doesnt add much stability. Also, when gripping my shoot-through umbrella, its often loose and the umbrella sometimes sags a good few inches

What im wondering is - is there a better alternative to these ones im using? I would be open to an adaptor that just had one plane of motion, as long as it was nice and tight. this ball head one is a little too floppy and often doesnt hold firm in position.

Thanks,

Rich
