Yes
Morning.

I still have in the house my old Minolta X-500 (X-570 outside of Europe).

Over the years, I’ve no idea what happened to the flash.

But as my daughter has now started to take an interest in photography and wants to do a semi-project for school on a film camera, I thought I’d drag it out of retirement.

But I need to get a hot-shoe mounted flash.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Doesn’t have to be period correct, but I am looking for something decent and relatively low-cost.

Thanks.

Thanks.

As it's getting on for 30 years since I used it, I can't remember if the flash is entirely operated via the hotshoe.

If memory serves (and it probably doesn't) I seem to remember a small wire coming from my flash and plugging in to the body. But I may be remembering my Dad's old Olympus camera.

So would something like this work?

Yes that would work fine and no cable would be needed.
