Not bad at all, but there are a few blown areas and it's a shame about the manky petal. You did get the centre nicely though... maybe crop it so the centre is the shot, if you know what I mean?

Have you tried upping the saturation a little too? I think that the darker background works well & would have a bit more impact if the colours were a bit more striking IMO

Thanks both. Have taken a few more pics of this flower on the weekend (they're still sitting unprocessed on the desktop) - hopefully with a better exposure. I'll play with the saturation too.

I did think about squaring off the shot so that the centre is... well... in the centre, hehe, but I get uncomfortable around square crops >.<
