Not sure what it is...long-legged fly of some sort? All comments welcome :)
 
Cheers bud :) Saw another cool fly yesterday but it got away...was there when I pressed the button but gone by the time the pic was taken. Got a nice pic of where it used to be! This one was a bit of a poser :D
 
Nice dolichopid series, pop the flash in manual and without the preflash you will stand more chance of getting the nervous little devils. ;)
 
Cheers Alby...I'll just have to find another of that one that got away. I tend to only use manual flash for stacks...the halfing/doubling of flash and fine tuning with 1/3rd stops on the ISO gets a bit tiring after a few shots...I soon go back to ETTL with FEC that I can control from the camera. (have also noticed when doing fill-flash that the lowest manual setting on the flash is way higher than you can get using ETTL.) But aye, know what you mean about the pre-flash spooking the subject :)
 
I like number 2, but they are all very good
