I decided about a month ago I was going to attend this and so planned ahead.... booked day off and car packed
Left home 10 pm Thursday night and drove 3 hours north and parked up at 1.30 in lay-by and slept .... until 6... had coffee and porridge and then went for a walk! .... I was there until 6pm for both passes and loved it

Hi Mark, really like the photo. I was there also, and considered taking up a similar position myself .you do have a good angle on it there showing a little of the curve in the viaduct.
I opted for the other side but will try your side next time for a change I think. Never the less, a good photo there but I think the wind blowing the steam downover takes something away from all the photos
including my own. regards colin

Very nice compostion,it is a pity the wind was not blowing the steam backward.:)

That's a great location. Three hour drive and a sleepover ? That's real dedication and well rewarded.
