Focus Screen Gaskets

Hi all,

I have just fitted a KatzEye to my D90 and noticed that there are a couple of gold coloured "gaskets" - for want of a better description - fitted in there.

I don't remember seeing anything like that when I fitted a KatzEye to my D40.

Does anyone know what they are for?

some dslr have shims, make sure you put them in right else manual focus will be out.
the d90 does have shims(section 7),

SHIMS! That's the word I was looking for

I might not have them in correctly then, as there is a definite difference between when the AF system thinks it's in focus and when I think it is. Guess which is right :shrug:

the af will be right as the shims and focus screen are only for manual focus.
