Hi All,

I'm off to Edinburgh tomorrow and fancy getting out for a shot of the bridge.

Anyone know what times or locations are best?

Cheers

South Queensferry and morning as the sun will be to your right and light up the bridge.....................if there is any sun. You can walk over the Forth Road Bridge and get shots later in the evening when the setting sun will be behind you. Not sure what time it is lit up at night (Scottish Power did it as a freebie) or even if it is still lit up

Best time is probably late on in the day as there should be a good sunset tomorrow, as long as the har doesn't appear.
At that time, around 9.30 to 10.00, South Queensferry is your best bet.

During the day, a trip to Port Edgar gives good views. You can park ( for free) almost under the Forth Road Bridge if you turn right at the entrance to the harbour/marina.
The approach road to the harbour goes directly under the road bridge and there is a stopping point there; interesting view of the underside.
You can also see the work on the new Forth crossing further up the Forth.

There's also a new education centre, which has a viewing platform with a nice angle on the Road Bridge (not so great for the Forth Bridge). For the Forth Bridge probably park on the hill to the east of the town, and walk along the shore. Evening time is good as you'll be looking west and has been good sunsets of late. Another way is from North Queensferry and looking south east. From the station on the north side you can get some unusual angles too.
