I want to clone mi 1tb nvme games pc to a 2tb nvme (external caddy)
just want a basic 100% free piece of SW
 
As @Paulie-W said, Macrium Reflect is available as a free version, which will do exactly what you want.
 
You don't need software, just this magic spell

robocopy c:\ d:\ /COPYALL
 
Personally, I'm not a fan of Windows based tools if the task is to clone the Windows disk itself.
If it's only data, default copy will do the trick. Or TeraCopy on Windows for more features including verify after copy.

Bootable USB is the way to go for cloning OS disks:
Clonezilla never failed me. Rescuezilla is the modern GUI version of it.

MediCat bootable USB is always worth having. It has a tool for everything.

worked 100% fine for me so not sure about the USB boot requirement , i am very familiar with USB boot stuff like Rufus but in this instance worked a charm and resized the partion
 
I will grab the Medicat though for my toolbox
