hey y'all

after a massive lay off from photography i am considering getting back involved.

im on a really limited budget and am considering a fuji s2 pro that i have seen going for a decent price.

i need advice.....

has anyone got/used one?
what are they like to use? image quality?
do they only use aa batteries? how long do they last etc etc

any info would be great!
what lenses are they compatible with?

i used to have a d200...how would it compare?

cheers dudes

I have one I use as a backup
IMHO
Pros
IQ for about £100 you get a lot
Lenses standard Nikon ( will auto focus will AF and AF S lenses )
Old Nikon pro body built to last
For an old camera dynamic range is good
The 6mp sensor works differently to most newer cameras so can produce a 12mp tiff file

Cons
Funny battery arrangement
Slow
Can only use 2gig CF cards

I loved mine! The battery arrangement is weird but the image quality is top notch!

Aren't the controls the same as those for the D200 or is my memory playing tricks?

really confused as what to do. my budget is £200

for that i need a body and 1 walkabout lens.

any other suggestions?

I had one, and loved it - I tended to leave a Sigma 18-200mm on it. It is constrained by speed and card capacity, but produces decent images.

After an S3 Pro I now have an S5 Pro, which is the D200 lookey-likey.

well, i ditched the idea of a fuji s2 pro and have scored a samsung gx-10 from ebay at a bargain price. time will tell if i made the right choice.

cheers for your input dudes
