Fuji Warranty Success!!

In 2003 I bought a Fuji S3 Pro DSLR which worked fine for a few years then I sold it to a friend in 2006 after upgrading to an Fuji S5 Pro. The S3 Pro worked well until a few weeks ago when the CCD failed after 6 years of operation and 80,000+ images. Some web research revealed CCD failure on the S3 Pro was a known problem so the camera was sent back to Fuji on the offchance it might be repaired under warranty.

A few days later Fuji sent him a brand new S5 Pro !! How lucky is that?

Bloody hell, after 6 years, 80,000 shots and a CCD failure they upgraded him for free?!

Wow that's pretty impressive...Nikon and Canon take note!!!

I wish Fuji would continue the S5 Pro with a new facelifted model which dosen't lag as much when writing data to the CF card as I would probably buy one.

I suspect this more to do with Fuji's withdrawal from the DSLR sector than than anything else. There may well be an excess inventory of S5 Pro's ?
I bet this wouldn't have happened a year or two ago.

Maybe I should be looking for a 'spares or repair' S3 on E-bay !!!
