Hi all,

I've just received a Fuji 35mm for my XE-1 and as well as noise from the focus motor I can also here a slight noise that I think may be the camera stopping down to the selected aperture when half pressing the shutter. I'm guessing aperture as it makes no noise at 1.4 when I guess it doesn't have to move at all.

It's not a big issue, but I've never heard this before on other lenses.

Can anyone confirm that they here a slight "electrical noise" as they half press or when they release the shutter button?

Thanks
Steve

Yes, there is a "chatter" noise from the aperture, as well as the lens having a rather loud AF motor. It surprised me how noisy this lens is, especially if compared to the 18-55mm zoom which is virtually silent by comparison.

Make sure you have downloaded the most recent firmware from Fuji for both the X-E1 body, as well as the 35mm lens. This will help with some of the "chatter" noise.

Thanks Devon. That was the surprise for me, as the 18-55 was so quiet in comparison. Sounds almost agricultural!

Steve

Mine does it as well. also the one in our shop makes the same noise so it's nothing to worry about.
