I assume that there's a slight difference between Nikon and Canon small sensor compatable lenses. Canon has the EF-S lenses which are only compatable on the xxxD and xxD series of camera's, won't work on the xD or 1D series of camera's, where as the Nikon lenses divided into the series of lenses designed for the D40, D40X, D60 which have a focus motor built into the lens (not the camera body) and the standard series of lenses for the full frame and crop sensor series of camera's like the D90 which rely on the focus motor built into the camera body. If you have the D200 nikon body, I assume that most of you lenses would work on a full frame camera. (Edit didn't see list of lenses, answer in thread below)

The good news
They will all fit and they will all autofocus.
The bad news
The Nikon 55-250 is a DX lens and the Sigma 10-20 and 17-70 are DC lenses. When you attach them to a full-frame camera, they can't fill the frame. The camera crops the image; you only get about 5MP out of the 12MP that the D3/D700 ordinarily provides.

The really bad news
The shopping trip to get you up and running with similar lenses of a suitable quality is going to be costly!
Based on a few threads I would think a Tamron 28-75 would be a good 1st lens to go with the D700 (currently under £300) my dilemma is the zoom and UWA FF compatable lenses, looks like again the Tamron 28-300 might be good but can't find out if the 120-400 sigma I have will be ok (any thoughts?) as for UWA seems the 14-24 is the best bet if the piggy bank can stretch that far or possibly the Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8D which seems to be a better compromise with a little less on the price too!!!!!

For UWA if the piggy bank can't stretch to the 14-24 Nikkor then Sigma do a FF 12-24 instead for about 1/2 the price(£665 v £1249 at Warehouseexpress) . Its slow (f1:4.5-5.6) if thats an issue. I have one of these and love it.
