Full Frame - worth the leap?

I agree with both points about the body on original 5d being a bit dated but it still takes fantastic images in the right hands. The reason I plumped for mk2 is due to the paid word really.

Thanks for the example ALI - great photo - what lenses would you recommend / do you prefer. I'm thinking I'd like to get an 85mm at some point mainly due to it being quite discreet compared to say a 70-200 and hoping to get 24-70 to replace my 17-55
 
Ahhhh yes lenses :)

I've gone for both primes and zooms. I like using the primes when shooting things like bridal prep. They allow me to shoot in reasonably low light being under f2.8's.

But I also have 24-70, 24-105 and 70-200 zooms

I'd say 24-70mm and 70-200mm are fab and cover just about everything! The shoot I did at the weekend was all 24-70mm and a few on 70-200mm

Those are definately my staples and the primes are the icing on the cake. The 24-105mm is a fab gerneral purpose daytime lens or if you are using flash it's great. It's pants in low light though being an f4.

It all depends what you like shooting Robby as to what's best for you. I have the 85mm f1.8 and I've used it quite a bit on bridal prep. :)
 
I think thats a good summary of lenses there. 24-105 would be nice but its a case of one or the other and shallow dof wins every time :)

I shoot portraits indoors and avoid flash when I can - high iso helps out loads when it come to flexibility of location

I think it's time I paid the patient folks at Calumet another visit... I'm 90% there now. Will just try not to think about the outlay and look upon it as investment. :D
