Handled the G11 for the first time today, I have no interest in buying it, just curious as to what it was like. One thing that did strike me about it was the dials on the top of the camera for the ISO (under the menu wheel) and an exposure button on the other side.

I was wondering if there was a reason why Canon haven't put these on their DSLRS? I would love a click wheel for the ISO and if they copied the style on the other side you could have one for the exposure and maybe the white balance. It would look a little ugly admittedly but would be so easy to use.

Any thoughts?

Yay! for more direct controls.

As long as its nice positive dials and not either flimsy wheels or worse still a shed load of buttons.

The ISO on mine isn't to bad but a dedicated dial would be easier, same with exposure compensation, especially if I could then choose whether to designate it for exposure or flash compensation.

While we're whining.. Canon.. give us at least one custom mode on consumer DSLR's please.. I really miss the custom modes on my old G11, it was nice being able to flip to a mode specifically set up for certain situations
