Before when I wanted a new piece of gear, I'd just sell something to get it.
A morning out macro shooting has now left me wanting a real macro lens (thanks to Alby, AGAIN :D )
But the trouble is, I love all my current lenses so much, I can't bear to part with any of them :crying:

(They are all listed in my camera bag for those who are interested).

For macro I use the Nikon 50mm F1.8 D and Raynox DCR-250 which gives me pretty damm good results.
But I really want to get better and closer at macro, and would like to get a decent 1:1 lens.

The lenses very much out of the question are my 70-200mm F2.8 and 10-20mm.
No way am I parting with those!
All the others I could possibly live without, but I really don't want to.......

The only option I have is to part with a few, or a lens to fund a 1:1
or shut up and put up with what I've got!
Or get some extension tubes later on.......

What would YOU do :)

Andy, have you thought of going down the extension tube route with the 50mm, it's a set up I used to good effect in my film days.
Will have to try and get down your way some time soon so you can try mine, they work a treat with the D200 and 105mm, I knbow you recently got the wire for the flash so lighting won't be a problen either.

Hiya

That certainly is an option yes.
Would love to try yours sometime (y)

Thanks Ingrid, nice idea!

Bite the bullet and buy a nikon 105vr. It is the sharpest lens I have, only had it a week and would not be witout it, it is pure macro lens porn.:naughty:

Ok let me know when you are about and i'll see if I can sort something out, ufortunately can't do the Winchester meet (work :( ) but am free most of next weekend and the Monday after

if you had stuck with sony..you could have borrowed my siggy 105 and tubes :p

seriously though,get a siggy 105..great little performer (y)

Still miss my a300 :(
That tilting screen was so precious for macro......

Still.......

The 105 would be a serious contender on my list mate!

Typical. I'm working that weekend, and the Monday

Not too worry, there will be other opportunities I'm sure.

Thanks again for the offer (y)
