GF-1 or wait for G2?

OK, I decided to make a new thread and ask you guys about it:

my missus gave me "good to go" for buying new camera. All I need to do is sell my Sony A300 and buy new one. Only one condition - video capability.
So I read lately a lot about GF-1 and seriosuly don't know what to do.
There is G2 coming out soon - rumor says it should be June. WHat would be the price for it? What did you guys hear? Should be aroung £600 with new 14-42 or more?

I am worried about lack of IBIS in GF-1/G2 for 20mm pancake lens or any other nonOIS lens and lack of viewfinder in GF-1 (I do a lot of photos outdoors in huge sun light, so it may make lcd useless).
New G2 will have nice swivel touchscreen lcd and builtin viewfinder, so that would be advantage. It would be a bit bigger than GF-1, but again, carrying GF-1 with 14-45 won't much difference compared to carrying G2 with same lens I guess... I may buy 20mm 1.7 later on, just for my own pleasure, but not sure now, I have pretty shaky hands;)

What do you guys think? Should I just sell my A300 and get GF-1 or wait to see what price of G2 will be?
Or maybe wait and see what Sony EVIL cameras will bring?!

Now I read about new m4/3 Olympus cameras that should be out this year...
I'm getting a feeling that it is not a good time to buy GF1.
Would you buy it now or wait for new cameras that should be out later this year?

It is difficult as there's always something coming or rumoured to be coming...

I'm happy with my GF1 even though it would be even better with a built in optical viewfinder or a high quality digital one and even though in body IS would be very nice.

If you can get a good deal I'd say got for a current GF1 as the new model might not come for a while or might not include your wish list features when / if it does come.

You're just going to torture yourself thinking like that - always something bigger and better around the corner. The fact is the GF1 is a great camera right now. :)

^^^ I agree.

The Micro 4/3rds market, EVIL, ILC whatever you want to call it, is hot right now, and will take a year or more to stabilise. I think Sony will be the big one. And then Canon - they have got such a big share of the current market they might not be so quick to rock the boat, but I think they will have to enter sooner rather than later. I also think we ain't seen nuthin yet ;)

There will be something new every five minutes, and it will be premium priced. Fun if you can afford it.

The tilt/rotate LCD of the G1 is a huge advantage for those unusual angle shots where previously you'd have been lying on the ground looking through the viewfinder. The trade off is that it's a bit 'ugly duckling' compared to the mini-M aesthetic of the GF1.

I'm more interested in m4/3rds because of the legacy lens support, and for the CV40 Nokton or the 28 Elmarit, it's either this or an M8/M9 on digital. Given that I'd rather plough money into lenses than body, it's perfect for me. Leica missed a trick with this one...

Thanks guys. I decided to go for GF1:)
Reason is I need video recording and I'm sure GF1 is better than my A300.
Like you guys said, there is always sth new that is coming soon, but thing is when it comes out it costs a lot, then waiting for prices to go down will take months, then another new stuff will be due out... I think GF1 is great camera so I'll take it now, if I decide that new one in year or two will be better and worth to pay, then I will change.
Besides, I dont think that Panasonic will come up with IBIS, when they have so many OIS lens on market, right?
I will get 14-45 kit, then later, maybe for Christmas I will get 20mm, or that new thing that is coming out - 14mm 2/5f...
