Simple question, I think.
Do you need a specialised trigger for this unit? I have seen a Godox for Canon trigger available for £60.
I have a Photix one I currently use for my Canon speedlight and remote camera and wondered if this would work.

Thank you. :)

There's a couple of Godox triggers you can use with the AD200, the latest version is the X-pro but you can also use the older X1T, there's a version of each for Canon. Those triggers will work natively with all of Godox's newer flashes (including speedlights) and that includes the re-branded versions from companies like Essential Photo, Adorama etc.

You don't have to use Godox triggers, if for whatever reason you want to use another radio system you can via a sync cable but that's a bit messier than just using the inbuilt Godox system.

And, of course, you won't have TTL.

As above - modern smart triggers have their own protocols, the receiver in the flash is expecting a certain set of messages from the trigger.

The Godox ones are better than most insofar as the receiver in the flash is camera agnostic. So you can fire it with a Canon X pro trigger or a Fuji x-pro trigger or Nikon, or sony.

Whereas a Canon, Nikon, Sony, Yongnuo flash is built for one camera brand.

I think for the little extra cash, it's a Godoy trigger. Thank you all for your help.
