Gone And Done It Now.....

Well,

You know how it is. You decide you want a new bit of kit, a bit of retail therapy. In my case a tripod to replace my other one (which is in excellent condition, reliable, not in need of replacing etc).

I've gone for a CF Gitzo. No issues there I hear you say.

BUT.....

You then see an accessory which you MUST have. You don't need it, probably won't use it (much) and it always costs an arm and a leg.

So, having ordered my new tripod, I've then lost all sense of reasoning and additionally ordered a Wimberley Gimbal Head with all the various plates for my lenses, and an RRS Ball Head together with camera plates.

Am I mad? or is this normal behaviour?

Yup, shrouds have no pockets and you're a long time dead! If you can afford toys, enjoy your money - savings effectively lose value (as will photo kit but at least you can use that!) when interest rates are compared to inflation and the taxman will take a significant wedge once you're past caring about the inheritance you'll leave.

tbh if its quality kit it should last, and retain its value
